General Instructions Governing Tournament Play
The CWDGA sponsors 4 District-wide Tournament - Championship, One-Day Stroke Play, Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs.

Any woman golfer from a member club in good standing who meets the CWDGA eligibility and handicap requirements is eligible to play in all events.

Cellular Phones
The use of cellular phones, pagers, beepers or any other electronic equipment is not permitted during team play or tournaments unless so ordered by the Rules Committee or in the event of a medical emergency. This includes players, caddies and spectators. Penalty for breach of this condition by the player or her caddie is loss of hole in match play and a two (2) stroke penalty on Stroke Play. Spectators that breech this condition will be asked to leave the competition course.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

1. Handicap Index limitations are: Championship and One-Day Stroke – 26.0, Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs – 33.0

2. The playing field is limited to the lowest 80applicants for Championship: the 100 lowest applicants for the One Day Stroke, 56 two-woman teams (112 players) for the Better-Ball of Pairs and the Senior Better-Ball of Pairs.

3. Participants are accepted with Handicap Index as of closing entry date.

4. For the Championship and One Day Stroke, players are accepted from the lowest USGA Handicap Index up to the capacity of the field. In the event of identical Handicap Indexes, acceptance will be determined by differentials. Current Handicap Indexes are used up to the limit of the accepted playing field. For the Better-Ball of Pairs and the Senior Better-Ball of Pairs, if the field is oversubscribed, players will be determined by blind draw. 95% of full Host Course Handicap Index will be allowed for Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs.

5. For the Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better- Ball of Pairs tournaments, if the field is oversubscribed and one member of the team withdraws, the team will be replaced with an alternate team from the waiting list. If there are no alternates, the remaining member of the team may select her own replacement as long as the replacement’s Handicap Index is acceptable.

6. If a winner is unable to stay for the awarding of prizes, she may ask someone to choose for her after all other winners have chosen. If she fails to ask someone, she relinquishes her prize.

7. A refund will not be made unless cancellation is received by the date specified on the tournament entry form.

8. The deadline for entry means date of receipt by the CWDGA Championship or Tournament Chairman, not the date of postmark. Entries should not be received prior to the dates specified on the entry forms.

9. If caddies are available, a contestant must use a caddie or a cart with a caddie provided by the host club. Contestants may not provide their own caddies.
