Instructions Governing Tournament Play

1. Handicap Index limitations are:

26.0 CWDGA Championship
28.0 One-Day Stroke Play
33.0 Better-Ball and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs

2. The playing field is limited to the lowest 80 applicants for the CWDGA Championship, the lowest 100 applicants for the One-Day Stroke Play Tournament, and 56 two-woman teams (112 players) for the Better-Ball of Pairs and the Senior Better-Ball of Pairs Tournaments.

3. Participants are accepted with Handicap Indexes as of the revision date stated on the Tournament Entry Form.

4. For the CWDGA Championship and the One-Day Stroke Play Tournaments, players are accepted from the lowest Handicap Index up to the capacity of the field. In the event of identical Handicap Indexes, Handicap Differentials will determine acceptance. Current Handicap Indexes are used up to the limit of the accepted playing field. For the Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs Tournaments, if the field is oversubscribed, players will be determined by a blind draw. 95% of full host-course handicap will be used for the Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs Tournaments.

5. For the Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs Tournaments, if the field is oversubscribed and one member of the team withdraws; the team will be replaced with an alternate team from the waiting list. If there are not alternates, the remaining member of the team may select her own replacement as long as the replacement’s Handicap Index is acceptable.

6. The deadline for entry means date of receipt by the CWDGA Championship or Tournament Chair NOT the postmark date. Entries should not be sent prior to the date specified on the entry form. No refund will be made unless cancellation is received by the date specified on the Tournament Entry Form.

7. If a winner is unable to stay for the awarding of prizes, she may ask someone to accept it for her, providing the designated person signs for the prize and the winner arranges for its pick-up with the CWDGA Tournament Chair.

8. Communication Devices: The use of a cellular phone, pager, or any other portable electronic communication device by a contestant or caddie during a stipulated round is strictly prohibited. Players who use such devices may be subject to disqualification due to a serious breach of etiquette.

9. Distance-Measuring Devices (that conform to USGA specifications) will be allowed in all CWDGA events at host clubs where the Local Rule allowing such devices is in effect.

10. If host-club caddies are available, a contestant must: 1. use a caddie or 2. take a cart with a caddie. Contestants may not provide their own caddies.

11. The One-Day Stroke Play, Better-Ball of Pairs and Senior Better-Ball of Pairs Tournaments are stroke play competitions. Strokes should not be conceded.

12. All scores in CWDGA tournaments are tournament scores under the USGA Handicap System. All scorecards must show an eighteen-hole score for each player. The CWDGA Handicap Chair will post all tournament scores. These scores will be entered as “T” scores. The Rules of Golf govern all CWDGA competitions as supplemented by the conditions of the competition established by the CWDGA and set forth in the annual CWDGA Handbook for Members which is provided to the Golf Chair, Handicap Chair, Team Captain and Four-Ball Match Players at each member club.
