HANDICAP INFORMATION
CWDGA member clubs use the USGA Handicap System and their recommended computer service, (Handicap Information System), to assure uniformity of handicaps. The CWDGA provides its member clubs with copies of the current USGA Handicap Manual. Member clubs should thoroughly review and comply with all aspects of the USGA Handicap System.

Sections 4, 5 and 6 of the Handicap Manual explain the procedures for adjusting and posting scores and keeping records. The new Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is mandatory for all golf clubs issuing USGA Handicap Indexes.

Every player is responsible for returning all acceptable scores, as defined in Section 5 of the Handicap Manual, made at her home course or away. Scores made at any golf course in this District during the inactive season may not be accepted for handicap purposes, but scores made at a golf course in an area observing an active season must be posted for handicap purposes, even if they are made during the inactive season in this District. See Handicap Manual, Section 6-2.

Scores made during CWDGA Team Play and the four tournaments-Championship, One Day Stroke, Better Ball of Pairs and Senior Better Ball of Pairs - are Tournament Scores as defined in Section 5-2e of the Handicap Manual and must be posted for Handicap purposes. Scores posted for regular play dates at member clubs should not be designated as Tournament Scores
